Please remember when ordering veneer sheets, plywood, or wood edgebanding, that it is very important to let us know if we need to match something. Such as a sample, a picture, an existing product, etc.. It is surprising that sometimes customers don’t tell us that we need to match a sample or they have some guidance that we need to know about. We need to know the expectations when the order is placed. As most of you know, wood products can vary drastically in color and grain. It is always good to ask a lot of questions. This helps us to make sure you and your customer get what you want.

Our web-site has thousands of veneer pictures that can be referenced and used as a communication tool to makes sure we are all on the same page. See our picture gallery for reference. You can even copy and paste pictures from there and e-mail them to us or your customer, to show us what you think will work best for your order.

Also, below are our recommendations for what will help you to get what you want. Thank you for helping us to serve you and meet your veneer needs.

1.) SPECIES: Identify the species by the proper name. Many species are loosely termed and inexactly described (arbitrary).
2.) BACKING: Determine the backing you need and what thickness is best. 10-20-30 mil, wood, phenolic, plywood, mdf, etc..
3.) SIZE: Know the size limitations. Do you need 4? x 8? sizes or would cut-to-size work best? Sometimes shorter widths or lengths will cost less. 5? x 12? is maximum size.
4.) MATCHING: Do all of the sheets need to match? Remember different widths and lengths of sheets, will not likely match each other. Any other match concerns?
5.) QUALITY: What level of veneer quality do you need? Do all the sheets have to be perfect or can you cut around imperfections?
6.) SAMPLE: Is there a sample or other reference that we sent or the customer has seen that we need to match?
7.) SCHEDULE: Advise the timing of your needs. When do you need the product? Can you use a partial order that would get you started? What is your schedule? What deadlines do we need to work with.
8.) PRICE: What is the quoted price or price range that you need?
9.) FINISH: What type of finish is being used? Any staining involved?
10.) PROBLEMS: Have you had any problems with veneer or lamination on previous orders?
